The Ins and Outs of KDOC for Those There Long Term

This power hour will address information that the client, family and friends, and the legal team need to navigate KDOC. The talk will share practical information, such as the RDU (Reception & Diagnostic Unit) process for those entering the prison system, communication policies (phone, mail), banking, and how to schedule calls (confidential and not) and legal visits. The presentation will also provide suggestions for how to manage more complicated client situations, like filing grievances, dealing with KDOC medical system, and keeping track of clients as they move within the prison system. Presented by Angela Holzmeister, Mitigation Specialist with the Capital Appeals and Conflicts Defender Office.
