The 2026 Kansas Legislative Session was short on time but long on passed bills, which means a lot of changes for public defenders and our clients. Rebekah Gaston, BIDS Legislative Staff Attorney, will share updates on new crimes, new sentencing rules, new bond requirements, and the BIDS budget. She’ll also talk about old crimes that saw a change in severity level.
